In a collective solemn act of inauguration of a monument, on the former fortification «Batterie» (Bruderholz Basel), the figure of Beckmann, a war returnee, rises again from the ghosts to raise his voice and ask again his question of guilt and responsibility. A commemoration in which the monument remains veiled until the end, but in which our superficial handling of history and with the trauma of an entire generation is revealed.
